They also sulk, strop and pretend they're busy when they're clearly merely resting. A bit like cats, really: we pretty much have to get down and worship them in order to gain that tiny bit of trust.

Wind was fairly ferocious but far worse were the 20 or so little sods who decided 5 am was a great time to let off fireworks on the green just outside my house.
