This tragedy forces those who once mocked empathy to now confront it.
Unfortunately, many of us have PTSD from being ridiculed for showing empathy, making it difficult to feel it now—especially for someone who spread hateful rhetoric and influenced a generation to be as hateful as he was.

Having lived in both, I think the PH is in a better spot. Impeachment’s stalled, but that’s the system (even if corrupt folks are blocking it). At least the President isn’t rigging the game. In the US? Total capitulation. No checks, no balance—just slow-burn authoritarianism.

These days I feel like I’m in Invasion of the Body Snatchers—Jordan Peele edition. The paranoia is real, even in California. MAGA energy pops up anywhere. Even fellow immigrants.

That was the most physically demanding challenge I’ve ever faced. Cramps hit me nine times during the race—I genuinely thought I’d have to quit. But I told myself, Absolutely not. You will finish what you started, even if you have to walk those last miles.
So I did. Until next year LA Marathon.

A rant: I think I am transitioning to becoming an Independent. While I hate MAGA Republicans, respect traditional republicans, and consider myself a democrat, I am slowly realizing that that current democratic party really needs to keep up with the times. Proper is over.
