Disappointed in my local paper for entertaining this fear. You cannot win by "compromising" on your morals with this administration. They will keep coming back for more until you have nothing left.

Letter: City intentionally risks losing federal revenue in tight budget year
It seems that our elected leaders are in denial about the $51 million in federal funds the city risks losing.

In instructing the NIH to provide cover to his antivax, antitrans, and antiscience lunacy, RFK is attempting to create a modern-day Ahnenerbe. History will judge his collaborators as such.

How can 1% of the US population be in the streets and that not be the headline on the national networks? This generation of "newsmen" is a disgrace to their profession.

I love to see trans flags being used as general signs of resistance. Hopefully, we can put to bed the trial balloons that democrats throwing trans people under the bus will lead to electoral victories.

Google must be desperate for people to add to maps. They keep pinging me about ancient reviews I left. Maybe if they change their business practices I'll go back. Maybe.

Perhaps the democrat victory in Wisconsin will show to some Republicans that the threat of Elon's money isn't all its cracked up to be.

I am conflicted about the Booker speech and the Senate tariff bill. On one hand, they don't do much directly. On the other, if they are the beginning of a more aggressive and confrontational stance by the democrats, I will be happy.

Google keeps sending me alerts on maps posts I made long ago. I guess they are seeing declines in participation. Good to know. They won't get anything from me until they improve their business practices.

I find it hard to focus on work these days. It feels like play acting, where everything could just end overnight.

Appalled at Columbia folding to Trump. Alumni should be furious. Students and faculty should seek to leave if possible. An institution that doesn't defend academic freedom and free speech isn't a university. It's a diploma mill.

What is happening at Columbia and the other universities under attack is egregious. Bowing to these demands is unconscionable. A university without academic freedom or the right to speak your mind is just a collection of expensive buildings that sell fancy pieces of paper.

Because of the antitrans bigotry in my home state of Florida, there are formative experiences that I won't be able to share with my partner any time soon.

As a scientist, I am distraught at the ongoing destruction of organized scientific enterprise in the US. We nurtured and built these institutions over the course of decades, and now we throw them away in a matter of months. Our children will judge us harshly for this.

I don't know how to properly use this platform yet, but if it is considered uncouth to only reply and post on single topics, let me change that profile. Maybe this is shouting into the void, but whatever.
