Instead of choosing one word for the new year, I always choose a poem. This one is by Mary Oliver. I know there will be storms this year— challenges, tough decisions. But I always want to make sure I remember what’s important.

I am truly grateful for the public library. I love to read and would not be able to read nearly as many books as I do without the public library. I check them out to use with students as well. Audiobooks, digital books, physical books. They have it all.

One of my favorite days in teaching. My students are getting books, hot chocolate and a stuffed animal. Can’t wait to see their faces. #edusky

This is the time of year I survey my students and parents to see if we need to adjust anything. My students apparently think we don’t have enough class pets.🤣

It is very important to me that my students get experience navigating different kinds of technology beyond the reading and math programs we use daily. We wrote our first digital stories! They illustrated what they were thankful for and we put it together in a little video that they narrated.
