UMSL women fall 3-2 to Washburn in D2 women's soccer quarterfinals. Came back from 2-0 to tie it, but gave up a goal in the 62nd that decided it. Freshman Ella Anselm had both UMSL goals.

Wow. Must have been some finish. The Wash U. women (20-0-3) will be appearing in their 6th national championship game and seeking their 3rd national title Saturday at 11 a.m. Central against Emory.
Wash U. wins a 14-round shootout 10-9 over Chicago and advances to the final of the D3 women's soccer final. Chicago had 3 chances to score and end it but missed once and two saves by Wash U. keeper Kassidy Lanthier

Man, they grow up fast. Pat Maroon's son, Anthony, has committed to Western Michigan, which won the NCAA title last season at Enterprise Center, to play college hockey. He currently is playing for Muskegon in the USHL.

UMSL advances to the NCAA Division II women's soccer quarterfinals with a 2-1 win over Maryville. Goals by Natalie Scott and Ella Anselm for the Tritons, who will play Washburn or St. Cloud St. in the next round. UMSL was the No. 7 seed in its region.

After losing to Lindenwood 5-2 on Friday, Long Island U. returns the favor, defeating Lindenwood 5-2 Saturday at Centene. Lions winning streak ends at 7 games. Lindenwood is off next weekend, returning to action Dec 13-14 at Maine.

After spotting Robert Morris a 2-0 lead, Lindenwood rallied for 5-3 victory Sat. at Centene to sweep weekend series. Louis-Phillipe Fontaine scored what proved to be game-winner, his 6th goal of season. Lions are 7-5-0, which doesn't include 2 wins over ACHA-member Grand Canyon.

Maryville beats Cedarville 5-4 on PKs after a 0-0 tie in the second round of the D2 women's soccer tournament, with Saints keeper Sophia Sulawske getting her hand on the last PK to give them the win. Maryville will play the winner of Sunday's game between UMSL and Ashland in the third round
