Please consider this position statement from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, endorsed by 20 other nonprofits, linking a review of 60 scientific studies, opposing permanent DST and endorsing permanent Standard Time, the clock more honestly aligned to the sun. aasm.org/new-position...

Permanent DST injured schoolchildren in New Hampshire, and it cost lives in other states. Only permanent Standard Time can last safely.

That would put January sunrises as late as 8:18, not good for safety or health. Doctors recommend standard time instead.
Sleep doctors’ orders: Use standard time 365 days a year
It’s time again for clocks to “spring forward” to daylight saving time. Learn why physicians are saying that tradition should stop.

It is frustrating! CA Senate approved SCR-7 in March, but the Assembly has ignored it. CA Senate Energy approved SB-51 in April, but someone shelved it into Appropriations.

Partisanship may be in play. Please insist to your state senator and assemblyman that they support this legislation, thanks!

Donations to Save Standard Time sent me to Bismarck in March—where the airport has dinosaur bones displayed, and where I testified for permanent Standard Time and met with local legislators and volunteers. Thank you for donating again now for more advocacy in 2026!

Your donations last year sent me to a dozen state capitals in 2025. Here’s a snapshot from inside Lincoln Airport (LNK). Please give again to Save Standard Time this year, thank you!

No. All Prop 7 did was transfer the power to make any changes from the people to the Legislature. There was no plan beyond that. Please tell your CA state senator and assemblyman to finish the job and sponsor SCR-7 and SB-51. www.votervoice.net/ditchDST/Cam...

California voters approved any permanent clock (in 2018). The CA Legislature has since then voted against permanent Daylight Saving Time (in 2022) and has stalled permanent Standard Time (currently).

Congressman Soto: “It’d be positive though, right?”
No, Mr Congressman. As we keep telling you, permanent DST would not be a net positive.

Mean solar time is an actuality. You’re referring to apparent solar time, which, as you said, only applies to “multiple days”, not most of the year. And this example is just one county of a few thousand people, in a nation of hundreds of millions.

There are parts of the U.S. where 12:00 PM during Saving Time actually matches the sun’s highest point.
Eastern Tennessee, eastern Kentucky, eastern Ohio, western PA, solar noon during DST hits about 12:00–12:05 PM.
In these places, DST is more aligned with nature than Standard Time.

No, sir. As I’ve already said, you are mistaken. bsky.app/profile/jthe...
Nowhere in the United States is the local mean solar time 49 minutes ahead of the observed Standard Time.

The furthest ahead is Lubec (population 1,237) in Maine, at 32 minutes ahead.
