Let’s #DitchDST and #SaveStandardTime! 👉 @savestandard.bsky.social
Permanent DST injured schoolchildren in New Hampshire, and it cost lives in other states. Only permanent Standard Time can last safely.

Please donate, keep us traveling to state capitals and to Washington DC, thank you!

Donations to Save Standard Time sent me to Bismarck in March—where the airport has dinosaur bones displayed, and where I testified for permanent Standard Time and met with local legislators and volunteers. Thank you for donating again now for more advocacy in 2026!

Your donations last year sent me to a dozen state capitals in 2025. Here’s a snapshot from inside Lincoln Airport (LNK). Please give again to Save Standard Time this year, thank you!

California voters approved any permanent clock (in 2018). The CA Legislature has since then voted against permanent Daylight Saving Time (in 2022) and has stalled permanent Standard Time (currently).

China’s single time zone appears to reduce longevity.

Time zones adjusted by a few miles or counties were always acceptable. But adjustments by hundreds of miles or entire states is gerrymandering. It was done for bankers, not for communities.

Better than pitch black at 9am under permanent DST.

Earth isn’t a perfect sphere moving in a perfect circle. Earliest sunset comes around December 6. Latest sunrise comes around January 5. Shortest daylight comes in between those two dates, around December 21 (the solstice). See also the analemma and the equation of time.

We’ve tried permanent DST twice before, and it’s a dark-morning disaster each time. Only permanent Standard Time can last, with its balanced morning and evening sunlight.

Earth is not a perfect sphere moving in a perfect circle. Winter solstice brings shortest duration of daylight. But earliest sunset arrives about a fortnight before solstice, and latest sunrise arrives about a fortnight after solstice. See also the analemma and the equation of time.

Arizona observes permanent MST. The west coast alternates between PST (an hour behind MST) and PDT (the same hour as MST).

Arizona only had DST one summer in the 1960s, specifically 1967, after the federal Uniform Time Act went into effect, before state law could be passed for self-exemption. Otherwise we’ve always had permanent Standard Time outside of war.

“Apocalypto” (2006) features a total solar eclipse as a plot point. It includes a full moon several hours later, which is astronomically impossible. Solar eclipses require alignment of sun and moon; they only occur during the “new” moon phase.

As seen in Arizona: National lottery times changed due to most states’ seasonal observance of Daylight Saving Time. #DitchDST

There are competing movements in the USA right now to:
• Restore permanent Standard Time (naturally best for health, safety, eduction, productivity).
• Retry permanent Daylight Saving Time (pushed by golf lobbyists).

Yes, DST forces early waking, deprives sleep, increases depression.
October 23, 2025 at 2:06 PM
If you prefer to wake before sunrise, you’re definitively not a non-morning person. Please set your own alarm early, let the rest of us finish sleeping each morning.
October 21, 2025 at 3:26 PM
Non-morning persons prefer Standard Time. DST is a trick to force earlier waking.

Yes, and each extension of Daylight Saving Time was always for profit, never for health or safety. #DitchDST
