The start of the protest in my small rural Central Oregon town today. Motorists driving by were vastly more supportive of the protesters than in dissent. As has been the case since I joined the protests here in June.

The start of the protest in my small rural Central Oregon town today. Motorists driving by were vastly more supportive of the protesters than in dissent. As has been the case since I joined the protests here in June.
This just location is 4-5 blocks north and 3 blocks east of the ICE facility, along the Willamette River where life goes on as usual on a nice Sunday morning, belying the “warzone” narrative. As I was writing this, I overheard residents in the area talking about the tear gas from yesterday.
