This is a film I like to watch every year around Valentine’s Day. It’s dramatic, funny, witty, sophisticated, and above all, romantic. Highly recommend to anyone and everyone. Director Frank Borzage was THE master romanticist in Hollywood in that era.

I don't know if it was a tie-in, but it was programmed by @jtarnold.bsky.social and he picked a wonderful assortment of off-the-radar stuff; I'd love a Part Two! My favorite was Passport to Destiny, a great role for Elsa Lanchester. TCM did a Letterboxd list: letterboxd.com/tcm_lb/list/...

Huge congratulations to my friend @www.johnbleasdale.com on today’s publication of his new — and first! — book. It is a brilliant read about one of cinema’s most enigmatic artists and I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Tonight’s Mike Tyson fight reminds me of the time I met him in 2005. He came to a Playboy Mansion movie night. Through the screening (of CAPOTE) someone’s phone kept ringing, and we eventually realized it was his. But he had fallen asleep — and no one wanted to be the one to tap him on the shoulder!
