Yeah I already posted my last time I had to massively ramp down. Outside of a carefully curated feed I’ve curated the toxicity and anger was too much for me to consider it a net positive in my professional or personal life.

You might be a better man than me… I don’t mind judging people without reading all the bad books, watching the terrible movies, etc. I had a friend who was going down a 9/11 conspiracy hole who offered to be “open minded and dialogue” if I’d watch some 15 hour YouTube “documentary”. Couldn’t do it!

I tried Mastodon but it was SOOO painful to use. It’s like saying “use the Internet”, because of the individual servers and inconsistencies and fractured nature. I don’t think it’s ever going to get to mainstream, might as well just be on Discord or WhatsApp groups. (In my experience)

Google sold Blogspot so my stuff for fifteen years is kind of orphaned now. Any suggestions for how to export that content to another platform? I pushed the pages out to XML with the image content but don’t know where to bring it to, want to repost and start writing again.

Yeah that’s why I joined. Definitely has not gotten as good as Twitter pre-Musk or post IMHO, but it’s evolving so I’ll hang out to see how things go. Would be nice to just have one spot where everyone was instead of bifurcated walled gardens, but maybe that’s just me… 🤷🏻‍♂️
