hot takes: checking car emissions is good and denying insurance coverage to people is bad. The amount of dems who completely forego their own principles when it inconveniences them or their career is why people don't think democrats believe in anything. There is no vision among hypocrites.

If you're cheering for the suffering of everyday people, even if they kinda suck, you've lost the plot.

men are distraught because they are taught value is a limited commodity.
if others are valued more, then they are valued less.
its a direct result of capitalism and patriarchy.
its real, its devastating, but its not complicated.
and its not women's fault.

if star trek was like reality, no one would ever talk to each other. Data tricked the crew and took over the ship, Worf de-evolved and killed a guy, Riker took part in a major cover-up. I think the whole "the worst day you had doesn't define you" is the real fantasy that attracts me to the show.

of course it wouldn't have been a problem if roof man simply hadn't believed in god in the first place. What no one realizes about this story is it proves belief in god is at best unimportant to outcomes and at worst harmful.
This is almost literally the joke. Man is on the roof of his home as flood waters rise. A rescue team, boat, and helicopter come by. Each time he refuses help, saying God will save me. He drowns. In Heaven, he asks God, why didn't you save me? God says, I sent rescuers, a boat, and a helicopter.

realizing that everything I've done, even the things that ended up being huge mistakes, was the best I could do with what I had at the moment. I really don't need to beat myself up for trying my best, even if to the outside world it didnt look like much.

In the past day or so I've had several people ask why I have descriptions on the images I post. It is called ALT text and its primary purpose is to make visual media accessible to people with visual impairments, but there are other benefits, too. You can read more at the link below!
Posting this again because a lot of people said they found it helpful! Guide to ALT text: www.perkins.org/resource/how...

the masculine urge to share an opinion about what is or isn't gender-based discrimination instead of asking someone who would know better

other future KamalaHQ tweets:
"Trump claims we care about Palestinians. But where's the proof, huh???"
"Trump is racist against Immigrants, but married one. A real American would outlaw citizen-immigrant marriage."
"Trump says he's against DEI, but he's proof he hired black people. Has he no shame?"

I saw someone say "my spouse is AFAB"

no your spouse WAS AFAB. It was an action in the past. It is not a present action or identity. do not use this acronym as if it means anything other than a record of oppression. If they don't identity with the assignment, its very rarely relevant anyways.

its really awkward when someone is like "was I the asshole" and describes a situation and yes they totally were the asshole, but the drama of answering isnt worth it, because you know they are fishing for reassurance not actually wanting to grow.

one of the things that bothers me the most about the internet is that people think talking like an expert makes them one. just admit you're guessing.

everyone has blindspots. Its not a fatal flaw to have a blindspot, but it is something to work on. I think character is revealed by how you react when someone points out that you have a blindspot.
