Trump wants to send $300B in rebates for tariffs that have raised $120B so far. Whether Trump's off in his numbers by such a magnitude by being uninformed, deflecting attention or other reason, he couldn't run a small business.

Couple thoughts. Graham cites Panama and the Monroe Doctrine as reasons letting Trump to act. On Panama we removed Noriega after a disputed election, unrest and the killing of a US Marine. We had troops there and a need to keep the canal secure. Drugs weren't the lead issue.

This was the only article today in the NYT on the shutdown and it's on 2018. For an event with millions unpaid and a standoff where Democrats believe shutting down the government is worth protecting health insurance for 20MM+, you'd think it would have more coverage.
