CO2 ice crystals!?! That's amazing! I knew Mars was cold, but I didn't realize it was cold enough for dry ice to form in the atmosphere.

I thought V was absolutely awesome when I first saw it, but there were some things about the plot that seemed a little farfetched. Would the people of Earth really give in that easily? Doesn't seem so farfetched anymore.

I've often wondered if/when we'd get to the point that we could monitor sunspots on other stars. This is neat!

And I remember sitting in a science class, roughly 30 years ago, listening to my science teacher explain that we might never find planets orbiting other stars, and maybe there are no other planets to find at all.

You know, I want more space launches, and I want more human activity in space. But if you do it without regard for safety or environmental impact, there will be consequences, and public support for space exploration will diminish. End result: fewer launches and less human activity in space.

I would've thought that, too, but I read somewhere once that Alpha Centauri is so close, and therefore so bright, that it can be tricky getting good data from it.

I've come to think of naps as a writing exercise. Got writer's block? Take a nap. Sometimes the blockage will clear itself up while you sleep.

I'm a little disappointed that it's a Jupiter-sized world and not something more Earth-like. But it's still super awesome nonetheless!
