Super interesting paper!!

Although I expect market structure to have a similar aggregate cost effect across specialities I don't think the price effect will always be there.

The reason is pointed out in the paper: anesthesia billing is pretty unique.

What happens after anesthesia rollup acquisitions?

Within six months, prices increase 18%. Within two years, they increase 25 to 30%.

There are a whole family of macro problems that are ripe for the combination of reinforcement learning and empirical work. Reinforcement learning unlocks complex equilibrium behaviors with a lot of interesting but classically intractable setups. This research agenda is so exciting.

It should not be surprising that Canada is punished by Trump's international policy, his operationalization of Canada against China in his last administration led to the detention of two Canadian nationals including my former colleague at International Crisis Group.
