From experience, they are all very burnt from the referendum and their 2019 election wipe out - lots of "we'd love to but it's not worth fighting over".

Greens are the strongest on it but their NATO stance is... questionable.

Very different feeling being late-20s in the UK - too young to enjoy freedom of movement but likely to old to benefit from a future youth mobility scheme.

There is a real sense of jealousy towards our European peers and rage at those who dragged us out.

One thing that is worth pointing out - electrification and decarbonisation through renewables and nuclear would likely reduce total energy use, just because of how hugely inefficient fossil fuels are.

He did withdraw the UK's objection to the ICC's application for the warrant when Labour came in - though actually going through with an arrest now its no longer hypothetical is a very different matter

Not sure this is a great long-term strategy if Labour manage to reform energy market marginal pricing and increase renewable supply - which would see consumer energy costs falling quite dramatically.

This dilemma speaks to a deeper problem Labour has - how do you achieve economic growth if you are unwilling to invest public capital to spur it.

This will have pretty big implications for the 3 outstanding DCO decisions Haigh has to make on 4 October. The most significant of these, the Lower Thames Crossing which seemingly has funding issues with the FT reporting the Treasury is considering private finance to cover the costs.
