Hi ONDP friends! I’m excited to share that I’ll be running for a second term as a member at large on the Ontario NDP executive at convention in Niagara Falls next week.

$500M in public money went to Algoma Steel and now 1,000+ jobs are gone. The Liberals say they support workers, but this is what happens when their bailouts reward corporations instead of families. We need federal projects using Canadian steel and stronger EI for workers who get left behind.

Big thank you to Alison Casey and the Mainland Nova Scotia Building Trades for the great conversations and the tour of their impressive training facilities. The classroom and hands-on training in electrical, plumbing, and construction are exactly what we need to build the future.

Today on #WorldAIDSDay, we honour those we’ve lost and the courage of those who keep fighting.

But too many still can’t access the care they need. Let’s end stigma, support the programs that work, and make sure care reaches the front lines.

Together, we can end AIDS in our lifetime.

As I travelled from city to city, one thought kept returning. NDP renewal cannot be partial or limited to one region. All Canadians deserve a party that listens to their hopes, builds partnerships, and gives members real power in shaping the future of the NDP.

Two weeks on the trail / Deux semaines sur la route
The last two weeks have reminded me of what is possible when New Democrats work together with purpose, and also how much work we still have ahead of us.

Mark Carney’s announcement helps Danielle Smith distract from her attacks on public health care, workers, trans kids, and education.

He should be standing up against these attacks, not working to appease Danielle Smith

Danielle Smith is dismantling public healthcare piece by piece. If she isn’t stopped, universal care will be decimated.

Mark Carney must draw a line and that starts with standing up for healthcare.

Did I get the Trump hand-gesture right?

Look, here's what I don't understand:

Doug Ford threatens to audit organizations that don't agree with him but rewards his bagman the Minister of Labour who has brought more corruption to his government? (1/2)

Every Canadian should be able to afford a home. But families are being priced out of their homes, out of their neighbourhoods.

This needs to change. We need to take housing back for people.

“Go get a job”? Not everyone can be a well-connected lobbyist or run a nightclub for this government. How about a plan for real workers? I mean it’s just embarrassing at this point.

Visited Sudbury’s Miners’ Monument today. The NDP has always fought for the rights of all workers.

We need to protect good jobs and build the future, from health care to EVs, while taking real action to protect the planet. We can do both, Canada’s workers deserve nothing less.
