In 1974, Laura received the Order of Canada. In 1983, she was awarded the Governor General's Awards in Commemoration of the Persons Case.
She died on Oct. 17, 1996 in Toronto.
Today, she is remembered for her unwavering work to bring gender equality to Canada.
