Living life. Trying to make sense of an insane world. Trying even harder (and failing) to resist the urge of fighting idiots on the internet.
Man this is bullshit. I would be furious. I'm simultaneously glad I got my ceremony done during the Biden admin, and embarrassed at what America has become. What a damn shame.

Mega Man 2 is garbage. It plays like ass, it's completely unbalanced and just awful. It's a great stepping stone to the true masterpiece (MM4), I really don't understand the obsession.

Also TMNTAG is mid at best, Manhattan Project is vastly superior.

Support the trans/queer scene. They're fun.
your retro gaming scene if it doesn’t include any trans or queer folks:

“hey guys wasn’t Mega Man 2 cool? wasn’t TMNT the arcade game cool? wasn’t Super Mario Bros 3 cool? wasn’t Contra cool? UP UP DOWN DOWN remember that lol?”
if you write (or speak) about videogames and you don't just naturally accumulate lots of trans friends and mutuals and readers (or viewers), you're either bad at it, or there's something suspicious going on with you. possibly both

REMEMBER: All the "Don't use em-dashes" "don't use rule of three" advice because it makes your writing "look like AI" is because they stole actual writers work, and their "predict the next thing" stuff just simulates what WE FUCKING DO. Keep writing well. Use every style and trick you have. Fuck AI.

Remember that today is about celebrating a bunch of people who decided they've had enough of a tyrant telling them what was what and then did something about it.

You can say "there's nothing to celebrate" or you can get up and take your country back.

Happy 4th of July. Pew pew.

Drafting in Magic Arena is super fun, especially those games where you put 15 lands in your 40-card limited deck and draw 12 of those lands from the top 15 cards of your deck.

I'm so angry.

Rebecca made me cheesecake. I made her a burger. That's why we're the perfect couple. I won't be taking any questions.

Lost one of my cats today. Had him for 15 years. I'm going to miss that old bastard waking us up in the morning for food.

He was a trooper to the end. Had diabetes. Had to endure 2 shots of insulin a day for the past two years. He was loved, happy, and had a great run.

See you someday, Caesar.

Being good at doing something and enjoying doing something are different things.

Be good at your job. Like your hobbies. No one's paying for "passion", they're paying for competence.

Sometimes these things overlap at work, but not always. Always get paid to do what you're GOOD at doing.
If you’re over 30, quote this with some life advice 🤌🏼

If you read nothing else on this subject, read this.

As the sole provider for my family, I agonized over the decision of signing that petition. What if they fired everyone on that list?

What would I do if I was forced to find another job? How would I pay my bills? (Cont.)
Ok lets get into it then. Hi I'm Valentine, I was one of the employees who led most of the walkouts and who was part of the original group pushing for unionization at Blizzard, especially on the WoW team where I worked at the time.

The trauma, discrimination, and abuse that our coworkers and former coworkers endured is not fake or a "plan to drive union membership". Our unions were born from the very real and harmful way executives reacted when made aware of these situations.

My favorite movie is Back to the Future. Idk if that means people will judge me or not, but it is what it is. I watch it a minimum 5-6 times a year, every year. It never gets old.
if i ask you your favorite movie and it’s an award winning smart person movie i am judging you

If you've enjoyed "I'm still here", you will also likely enjoy 1997's "Four days in September" a film about the kidnapping of the American ambassador in Brazil in the late 60s.

Incidentally, Fernanda Torres and Selton Melo are in that movie, appearing as two of the anti-regime kidnappers.

Remember when those jerks stormed the capitol to stop the election from being certified, this very day a few years ago?

Yeah, I'll never forget it, because it happened on my birthday. Anyways I'm a year older.

Selton Melo (the actor behind Fernanda Torres) is all of us.

I'm actually surprised and delighted that she wasn't snubbed like her mom was 25 years ago. Never gonna be not salty at "Shakespeare in love" getting that award instead of Central Station.

But hey, slow change is better than no change.

"Some Brazilian influencers now say things like “in 1998 we were all playing Pokémon on original hardware and trading monsters at school with the Link Cable”

I never met a single person in Brazil in 1998 that owned a gameboy, lol.

Awesome read. Imma go play some Bomba Patch.
Here we go, something I've been drafting for a long, long time: how the US-centric approach to video games and their history / culture basically gaslights us who come from other realities:

People acting like Gladiator is Citizen Kane is so funny. It was a mid movie at best, and the sequel is the same. 6.5/10 too much water.

I feel this. I mostly lurk here. Generally I have a tendency to go "OH NO, SOMEONE'S WRONG ON THE INTERNET, MUST CORRECT THEM".

In here, I've been trying the tried and true "write it, erase it, don't send". I actually feel better doing that.
Twitter "taught" us all that the normal way to communicate in these spaces is to constantly dunk on one another, and good god is that tiring, whether I agree with the person's politics or not
