And sometimes I get a photo with no lizard in it at all. So sad. Zero lizard for Giancomo.

I don’t care if I’m never good at anything as long as I can keep doing what I love (taking blurry photos of annoyed lizards).

Listening to the ‘80s radio station is so funny because I’m literally from the ‘80s but still every other song has me chuckling “that’s Dennis’ car song.”

Buying myself a portable cd player for my birthday next month definitely sounds like something Jacob Abbott Elementary would do (uncompliment to us both) but they had one in nonbinary green! (Joking - colors don’t have genders. Except for green. That one is OURS.)

Emotional regulation isn’t automatic like your heartbeats: it takes a *lot* of work. Don’t let yourself believe the lie that it’s impossible for you, though. Give that lie a snack until it shuts up.

This is how I feel at work every day.

🚨FALLEN (1998) is streaming free with ads on Tubi! Aesthetically and thematically, it’s a perfect autumn movie. And the cast is phenomenal (Denzel Washington, John Goodman, Embeth Davidtz, Donald Sutherland, James Gandolfini, Elias Koteas).

A character processing her life through elaborate daydreams (she’s a spy! she’s President! she’s an astronaut!) leading up to her writing an essay for class about how imagination is the most important thing you can have. My YA life was changed!

Even George Costanza knew how to handle that one.

Gleefully blocking every “I mean, it’s not ideal for Victor to torture his child but you don’t understand how hard being a parent is” take. Many people need more shame, actually.

BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR (1990) is about how sometimes your gay husband can’t tell you he wants a baby so he makes you both one out of fingers and an eyeball he got down at the coroner’s.

LISA FRANKENSTEIN (2024) is about how grief turns you into a monster because people don’t like to witness grief or feel even a minute of secondhand sadness.

Meanwhile, actual Mary Shelley.

The latest “are we being punk’d?” is their new, exciting “team building” thing is asking us to find problems with how things run at the college and give solutions on how to fix them. They genuinely don’t think we can tell we’re being used as unpaid business consultants.

The culture at my job is so “if I’m never transparent in my communication, then I can never be held accountable,” which is very hilariously going awry because they hired a yapper who documents everything, baybee. I was made to ruin everybody’s day.

I always get a kick out of romance novelists saying something in a few sentences that therapy books take chapters to broach.
