They’re told to, though it’s been happening long enough now that many of them were hired for that explicit purpose and they’re fine with it. I left legal publishing 5 yrs ago in part bc I didn’t want to crank out more fluff for our media side. They cut the $ by 25% and hired a fluff maker.

And then I see this. “Be grateful” as a threat. I change my mind. Nuance is a waste of time on this issue. I’m just going to consider them all Nazis. www.themirror.com/entertainmen...

Fine I guess CBP spends some time doing boring customs stuff but really both are pretty thuggish and probably being pressed into being even more thuggish by the current admin. My sympathy is limited.

“The Metaphysical Club”. History of statistics theory in America, which sounds really boring but is actually fun and gossipy. It starts with debunking phrenology and goes on to show how a lot of ideas are improved by, you know, actually looking at the evidence.

I have a friend who is a six sigma lean certified manufacturing engineer for a major auto maker. For her, in that context, it makes sense. Outside of large scale manufacturing it’s just ego stroking nonsense.

This is critical in death penalty cases. It can be useful in all cases. Again you can’t explicitly call for nullification but you can point in that direction and hope the jurors get there on their own.

You can tell Jurors that they can be firm in their belief to convict/acquit and talk about how to handle things when they are under great pressure from other jurors. There have been cases of jurors threatening other jurors and it’s ok to tell the judge well before that point.

Former public defender here. This is correct and the fun part is seeing how close you can get to “explicitly”.
And for the record I don’t think this nullification. This did not meet the definition of corporal injury, and the Felony Footlong silliness was a mere condiment on the sandwich of truth.

No, but really when somebody has a significant behavior change that occurs that rapidly it’s something, and that would be my first guess. The racism is orally still there but meds can go a long way in making the bullshit quiet down
