Why build new gas?

Solar plus batteries are much cheaper, and new nuclear nearly is.

So, why build expensive and dirty gas, which is the biggest single source of CO2 pollution. #energysky

Wood Mackenzie confirms new natural gas generation is expensive!

$126/MWh in 2030!

New solar plus batteries are less than half the cost of new gas!

New nuclear ($139/MWh) also is getting close to being cheaper than new gas!

Gas too is dirty, biggest CO2 electricity polluter. #energysky

Good morning with good news: Global solar deployment keeps smashing records!

About 3X more solar was built in H1 2025 than in all of 2021 and nearly 2X more than in all of 2022!

2025 global new solar (more than 700 GW) will smash the record set in 2024!

Probably by 2025!

Renewables have generated more electricity globally than coal from January-August 2025!

Why?

Mainly skyrocketing solar and surging wind generation!

The cost-cutting solutions are available NOW. See below!

This is a battle to overcome local/monopoly utility indifference or hostility to solar.

Will the Abundance Movement make enabling abundant rooftop solar a priority?

US rooftop solar costs 7 times more than in Australia and 2.8 times more than in Germany.

Why?

Soft cost like permitting, inspections and interconnection are 78% of US rooftop solar costs.

Monopoly utilities and municipalities mainly drive these costs.

Good morning with good news: The entire solar supply chain has been reshored to the USA!

US can make 60 GW of modules, over 34 GW of solar cells, 25 GW of inverters & 95 GWh of battery cells.

US fossil fuel generation continues to lose market share in 2025.

Fossil fuels fell to ~50% for a couple months in 2025.

After recently being more than 60% of US electricity, fossil fuels will fall to ~55% for all of 2025.

Why?

Surging solar and wind generation! #energysky

Solar and wind will generate 50% or more of the ANNUAL electricity in eleven nations by 2030.

Add hydro, other renewables and nuclear and the world will be ~50% non-fossil power by 2030.

Add rapid EV growth and Petrostate Politicos panic.

Their panic is for a good reason. #energysky
