Cynthia Erivo’s casting and success as Elphaba has done exactly what it needs to: according theatre gossip, for the first time in its 20 years on Broadway, Wicked will cast a Black woman full-time to play Elphaba on stage! Lencia Kebede who is currently Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton will be Elphaba!
