The Warehouse does not have Quality Street chocolates this year and I'm feeling very disappointed. Acres of bloody Roses but does anyone actually buy them, other than for teachers?

Musing that librarians and developers from around the globe will be arriving in Wellington today for #KohaCon25 to celebrate 25 years of Koha - the world's first open source library management system that was developed here in NZ @KohaILS

Someone needs to take the remote control off the Emergency Alert guy and tell him to go have a lie down.

I feel like Trump's America is like a reality show - an absolute shit show and horrifyingly compelling to watch.

What does Trump et al have to do before 'merica pulls the plug?

(And I need a good weekly episode that summarises the week with good commentary on global response)

Golden visas for those with a few million, only need to be in nz for seven days a year...

But a kiwi born here is being deported

The Kiwi kid who faces being deported to a country he’s never been to
Daman Kumar was born in Auckland, and he’s never left the country. He’s just finished school, and wants to go to university - but soon, he could be deported.

In today's edition of Jo's seriously over-inflated sense of what's possible:

I'm knitting a tartan baby onesie ...

By my calculations, if I stick to 8 correct rows a day (allowing for current rate of do-overs), it might be finished by 2035 as a 21st present instead ...

Yes and yes - have definitely done this. Also applies to instructions given without appropriate strategic foundation and financial delegations.
If your boss or company tells you to do something unethical: don't say yes. Make them write it down.
If they won't put it in writing yourself. Send an email (bcc yourself?): "Following our conversation on x date at x time regarding x, I am writing to clarify your directives. According to my notes, you instructed me to A, B, and C. If any of this is incorrect, please advise. I have some concerns."

NZ folks...my wonderful friend is running a school stationery drive to help Te Awakairangi/Lower Hutt whānau in hardship. She makes up stationery packs tailored to whānau needs, but right now demand is outstripping donations. Can you help chuck in a few bucks? givealittle.co.nz/cause/2025-t...

The economy is not fragile. Labour underborrowed if anything imo and there’s enough money for school classrooms and other infrastructure.

Could the Coalition stop lying? Also, ditch tax cuts and rebates to landlords.
Here's S&P's Anthony Walker on how the Crown's finances are not fragile and how net debt would have to rise another NZ$120 billion before we were downgraded. He wonders why the Crown doesn't deal with our infrastructure issues by borrowing off the Crown's balance sheet. megaphone.link/TSO4064581856
