The NYTimes seems to think the 4th Estate is there to fortify power, not question it or hold it to account.

NYTimes: "sure David Brooks was hanging out with a pedophile, but it was all for research! Now stop complaining that we didn't disclose it in the opinion article about how we shouldn't focus on the pedophile"

Just talked to my 84 year-old mom who thought he was referring to a mental status exam which is routinely given to people 65+ by their doctor. Nope - this is cognitive testing which is only given when there are signs of dementia. Three times means they are measuring rate and extent of decline.
