They take "reading meaning into the text" to a new and deranged level. I'd be impressed if I wasn't so busy being flumixed and annoyed.

The entire narrative of our lives from books, to movie, to the nightly news, the the preacher of his church constantly reinforce the idea that people like him are the good guys.

And those people in the city, if they aren't evil why don't they move? Why would they stay in a dangerous corrupt place?

None of this is helped by the media loving its "country dinner" polls.

It's not Pawpaw's fault he was taught about "The War of Southern Rebellion" as an underdog story. Or that he's never left the county and never wants to because it's "God's Country."

Add to this the isolation and homogeneity of these communities, low education standards, the biggest divide being which church you go to - if there is more than one - link to it the idea Christian purity and country purity... and BOOM the great divide.

Country people paint themselves are the true hard workers, living on the ragged edge of the frontier. No soft handed city slicker had even done REAL work, so how can they be REAL Americans?

An office cubical is soulless, so only a soulless being could do that.

Both lost their family to money and the corruption of the city.

Beyond that, Fantasy and Sci-fi are stuffed to the gills with Chosen Ones who start as simple folk. Looking at you Luke Skywalker and both Mr. Baggins

But we love casting our heroes a simple country folk. Clark Kent jumps to mind. As does Captain America. But they are highlighted by the counters, Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark.

Batman is dark and broody, arguably as unhinged as his villains. Iron man is a mess of vice and daddy issues.

Currently debating finished the ebook I am on, jumping to the one I have been waiting on that came out today, or finishing my physical book...

That would be physical books.

Ebooks, no clue how many of those I read, but kindle always has one loaded.

Not to mention how long it takes to actually pass laws with a functional congress, much less our dysfunctional one. Plus it assumes all congress people have the public interest at heart, which they very clearly do not.

So you don't know how government or science works, or why you choose experts based on merit not votes.

Google is still free. There are 3.5 Million people in my country, and the sociopaths are about 30% of that. Meaning those of us who expect them to behave not like plaque goblins out vote them.
