Throwback. My second/last marathon. 2006. On Fifth. With my distinctive head tilt. My wife said she could always know it was me by that tilt, which I never realized I had until I saw pictures.

After I got my bag, I met her on W77th. She hugged me. Said she didn't understand it but was happy for me.

I use "perfect" often. It may not qualify as real "showing" in describing a character, but I like to let me reader make of it what they will; it's all in the eyes of the beholder.

"My Husband's Daughter" has two themes. One is our narrator Cassandra's attempt to find love and/or romance. It's also a story of Her Husband's Daughter and whether she can develop any sort of relationship with her late (and ex) husband's daughter, Scarlett.
