A couple of images from a residency I just completed in Keno City, Yukon. These creatures are for an installation I am working on that images a point in time when humans have gone extinct from the earth. What will we have left behind as our legacy? What life forms will exist?

Happy Good Friday!

Here’s how I spent much of my weekend, in an online class offered by the amazing Dagmar Binder, a German artist. Pitcher plants have always fascinated me, so - while it has flaws - this piece makes me happy. I still want to play with the shapes a bit more. @textillabor

After setting this project aside for almost a year, I am excited to now have the time to start work again on “A World Without Us”. The installation will look like a room in a museum with several elements including a large case full of ‘fossils’ made from every day objects.

Needle felting class today. A few weren’t completely finished when I took this photo, but nonetheless, aren’t they adorable? Thanks to everyone who took the class.

Traffic at the Peace Arch border crossing right now (webcam image). Google Maps confirms that it's not my poor memory - cars are usually lined up solid to the arch. #BoycottTheUSA is working.

Finished my little sweater project!

Five #needlefelted sweaters carrying a songbird, a snail, a ladybug, an amanita, and a blue butterfly…all strung on copper threads.

I think I’ve fully satisfied my sweater curiosity for now!

The Frog Prince. He looks more like he’s chillin’ in a hot tub than he does hanging out at the palace’s well.

Finished the last pair of slippers for the “Twelve Dancing Princesses” piece. Contributors: Pat Bragg, Linnea Rowlett, Rosalind Crump, Paulette Roy, Diane Larkin, Carol Ann Gingras, Charlotte Asquith, Iris Binger, and Robin Bishop. Will post photo with full backstory when it is installed.

Saw the new Nosferatu the other night. It was ok, but nowhere as impactful as the original 1922 version.

Added a few more bits to my “Opening Night” piece, made to commemorate the first movie ever shown at the Yukon Cinema in Whitehorse 70 years ago. I think it’s done. The movie, by the way, was “The Glenn Miller Story”. #yukonart #yukonartist #yukoncinema

New to Bluesky. Hoping to connect with a community of assemblage artists, those who create wearable art, and felters. Shown here is one of my latest pieces.
