Personally I think this is better for both parties, certainly better for women but the secondary benefits to men are demonstrable. I work to improve and grow and become a better person, and I get to sleep every night knowing that my wife is there because she wants to be, not because she has to be.

Men have to work constantly to be the best version of themselves because a woman have the agency to leave a bad situation now.

Is it extremely difficult to find a romantic partner in the modern social landscape? Yes absolutely. Third places are all but extinct and everyone is working insane hours at sometimes multiple jobs, so the only way to meet people is through dating apps designed to keep you using them. It sucks.

The male loneliness epidemic is probably similar to what plantation owners felt during the emancipation proclamation. Women have the opportunity to demand better treatment in their relationships, and some men refuse to adapt, they'll just find a way to blame women for their own shortcomings
