Pride is a celebration. Pride is also a powerful statement about courage, community, and determination.

We honor the trailblazers who came before us, join arms with those leading the fight for equality today, and empower the next generation to live boldly, freely, and with joy.

Today I am thinking of my mother, Dr. Shyamala Gopalan Harris, and the many lessons she taught me. I am so proud to be her daughter.

Happy Mother's Day to the mothers, stepmoms, grandmothers, godmothers, aunties, and all the women in our lives who love, raise, and guide us.
