I write out a script for my calls to my two US Senators today, urging them to support full public vetting for the Trump cabinet members, and stating my serious concerns with several nominees. Feel free to use and adapt for your own Senators and concerns.
Script for calling US Senators for Washington State Sen. Patty Murray (202) 224-2621 Sen. Maria Cantwell (202) 224-3441 My name is —- , and I’m a resident of —, WA. I’m calling to ask the Senator to support public hearings for all of Donald Trump’s cabinet nominations in order to thoroughly vet their experience, character and ethics and verify their competence as public servants for these roles. In particular, these nominations display a lack of seriousness and competence: * Matt Gaetz for Attorney General * Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence * Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense I strongly encourage the US Senate not to do any recess appointments for the President-Elect’s Cabinet. We need full public vetting of important positions to ensure that these candidates are worthy in experience, character and ethics to be public servants for the USA.
