I am a PhD student in Public Theology and Witness at ULS, Gettysburg PA. I am an ordained Lutheran pastor active in issues of human rights 🇵🇸. I believe that if your religion is making you wealthy and powerful, you aren't doing it right.
Project Esther, a part of Christian nationalism is guiding Trump in squashing dissent. This is a very bad turn of events. Know that Christian nationalism means WHITE nationalism.

Give me just one thing that Trump has done to better the lives of anyone not white, cis, male and in his inner circle. Just one.

So we really want to be this? A place where fear, anxiety, and threat is the model of governance?

Until Israel suffers some consequence it will continue to violate the human rights of Palestinians, enforce an unending occupation with violence, and murder Palestinians with impunity.

They have never been held accountable. Never.

We who have been in the pulpit (especially since Trump) have been charged with being too political when preaching the gospel. The gospel is political: feeding the hungry, caring for the alien in the land, showing mercy is political.

If the gospel makes you uncomfortable, that is on you.
GOP lawmaker files resolution to condemn Bishop Budde for her sermon. Ridiculous assault on religious liberty. Gov.'t shouldn't decide which sermons are acceptable or not. This sadly fits with how Trumpian politicians & preachers are responding to Budde (publicwitness.wordandway.org/p/brave-serm...)

How can anyone read this and not see Trump and his minions?

It appears that the condition of the hostages released by Hamas are in good condition.

On the other hand, the Palestinians released by Israel are not.

This matters. 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸❤️❤️❤️🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸

This is what many of us do. But the apparent majority of Americans voted for only themselves and were deceived. Bigly.

True disciples of Christ are not afraid of curiosity, diversity of thought and person, and function from a place of love that places our neighbors in our scope of concern.

Yup!
I would rather live next to an undocumented immigrant than a freed January 6 traitor any day of the week.

I wonder if anyone will be keeping track of how many black and brown bodies will be deported compared to white bodies?

The trauma for the children of Gaza is constant. Constant. God weeps at our indifference. 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸❤️❤️❤️🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
The UN’s top humanitarian official Tom Fletcher told the Security Council that up to 1 million Palestinian children in Gaza are in need of mental health support', reports Al Jazeera's Gabriel Elizondo from UN Headquarters, New York City.

Seems obvious, doesn't it?

To resisting an unending, violent, illegal occupation is not terrorism. The enforcement of that unending, illegal occupation with violence is terrorism.

Resistance is a consequence of systemic injustice. 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸❤️❤️❤️🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸

Bohnoeffer reminds us that when Christ invites us to follow, Christ invites us to come and die.

If your Christian faith is making you wealthy and powerful, you are doing it wrong.

Ok, so I am new to this platform. There are many posts that I agree with here but "hearting" it feels completely inappropriate.

So, how do I express support for a post without "loving" it?
