1) Aim to achieve the vision you had in mind
2) Be honest about what needs improving to achieve that vision, but will explain why without being antagonistic
3) Not try to impose their own style on the work
4) Be willing to negotiate on details
5) ACTUALLY READ YOUR STORY

it’s still wild to me how creators get punished for breaks/hiatuses when they’re for:
- taking a break/hiatus for physical/mental health
- catch up on buffer episodes
- slow down so more effort can go into production
- personal life stuff that no one is privy to
- just having a life
