On any given day, nearly 50,000 youth in the US are confined in facilities away from home as a result of juvenile justice or criminal justice involvement

This is especially troubling knowing that over 1 in 3 people in state prisons were first arrested before their 16th birthday

He begged for help from a female correctional officer, but she reportedly refused to assist him. For three hours, Trayvon was left to die on the jail floor, without receiving the urgent medical care he needed. When he was finally taken to Mercy Hospital at 5:09 PM, the chaplain was not called until 8:00 PM—hours after Trayvon had arrived. His family was not informed of his death and had to wait days before they were allowed to see his body. When they finally did, his face was bruised, and there was a black line running down his face, raising even more questions. To this day, Central Booking has failed to provide any clarity or accountability for what truly happened. His family, friends, and community are demanding answers and justice for Trayvon. We’ve reached out to news stations, contacted lawyers, and will not stop until we uncover the truth. Trayvon’s life mattered, and we refuse to let his death go unanswered.
