Mike Lee shouldn't just be expelled from Congress, he should be expelled from public life, just completely shunned by everyone he encounters like in that episode of The Twilight Zone.

He is unfit to hold public office and his party should take action. The party won't, but it should.

DOGE was never about savings. It was always about surveillance.

Over the weekend, we released new details—and now whistleblowers are coming forward too. What’s becoming clearer by the day: DOGE isn’t a government efficiency program. It’s a data weapon aimed at the American people.

At least 40% of seniors’ ONLY income is from Social Security. They need it to buy food, pay for heat, etc. Yet this clueless, very rich cabinet secretary claims that if a monthly check didn’t arrive, just “fraudsters” would complain. #mepolitics
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick: "Let's say Social Security didn't send out their checks this month, my mother-in-law wouldn't call and complain. She just wouldn't."

Yet again, it’s time to bring up a very important episode of @ricksteves.bsky.social . It’s very much worth your time to check it out and pay attention to how eerily similar it is to our current state of affairs.

We are experiencing an assault on science unparalleled by anything I’ve seen in my life. It’s not one issue or another anymore, the entire institution is under attack by the most powerful individuals in the country.

This Friday, where will you be?

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:

If you worked for 18F and got fired, Group together to start a consulting company.

It’s just a matter of time before DOGE needs you to fix the mess they inevitably create.

They will have to hire your company as a contractor to fix it. But on your terms.

I’m happy to invest and/or help

VACCINES SAVE LIVES

Vaccines ended the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vaccines and other public health measures save the lives of millions of children worldwide.

Do not let RFKJr and the Trump admin take us back to a time when 5 in 10 children died before the age of 5.

Infectious diseases killed Victorian children at alarming rates — their novels highlight the fragility of public health today
Between 40% and 50% of children didn’t live past 5 in the US during the 19th century. Popular authors like Charles Dickens documented the common but no less gutting grief of losing a child.

I can’t remember where I read this, but it’s important:

Why is it that when people think about traveling to the past, they worry about doing something small that will drastically change the present, but no one in the present thinks that doing something small today can drastically change the future?
