Theaters aren’t competing w/ home entertainment in cities

I saw Frankenstein w/ friends in a small art cinema that we all could walk to (even though it was coming out on Netflix the following week) because our living rooms are too small

Maybe theaters just dont make sense in the suburbs
They had no competition for 100 years and did not innovate. The same reason people instantly flocked to Uber’s when they could was because cabs were awful. Theaters were ruined by themselves - hand in hand with the Billionaire producers who are asking the working class to save their asses.

When living in a city with a small entertainment space, the theatre is the only place where a group can watch a movie together

In the suburbs a theatre has to be tricked out w/ reclining/warmed seats, making tickets $$$, & those that can pay probably have a better setup at home

I was living in NYC during hurricane Sandy. I think most New Yorkers have climate change as top of mind at all times considering they are at sea level. Just from a campaign standpoint it’s almost like stating the obvious to New Yorkers at this point.

I totally disagree. You can talk about both things and how they are connected.

Yeah seems bad. NYC has a population that’s bigger than some whole countries. Per capita emissions are lower than most of the US. There’s more that can be done.

Getting more people to use public transit would be a big help. I think that might be a side effect of Mamdani’s free busses program

And how much of the US emissions are from NYC?

I think this was a reason for the shift in focus. www.middleeasteye.net/news/carbon-...

One can’t talk about what individual countries can do when there are massive emissions coming from a single source that outweighs everything else.
Carbon footprint from Israel's war on Gaza exceeds 100 countries
Study estimates that Israel’s destruction of the Palestinian enclave has generated over 31m tonnes of carbon dioxide

Ah okay, didn’t know what it was called. Googled it and… yep that’s what it is… 😵‍💫

I just watched this. They didn’t go into detail about the tattoo being a Nazi symbol. Do you have anything else on that?

Where’s the reporting of this tattoo?

Don’t most people just pick R down ballot and not really research the candidates? I think Brown performing any better than Harris says some people were paying attention.
