Very (un)serious person who, occasionally, makes friends along the way… (also an addiction researcher/psychologist)
I've been a Spurs fan since they drafted Duncan... so, since I was 8 (long story, boils down to growing up in NC, dad didn't care about pro ball, just college, so I could pick my own team, and I loved watching Duncan play)

anyway, Wemby is the most excitement I've felt since Duncan retired.
Victor Wembanyama has his SIXTH career game with 5+ threes & 5+ blocks, extending his record for most such games in NBA history.

Throughout high school I worked on a red angus cattle farm… and let me tell you… in my adult life, a friend once told me that they thought they could beat a cow with their bare hand and I’ve never laughed in a person’s face as hard as I did that day.
what we need is an rpg with realistic wildlife where cows are killing people

I guess we can add "Eye of the Beholder" to the list of Twilight Zone episodes the Trump administration is trying to emulate

As one of the only sports gambling researchers in the states (seriously, there’s barely a handful of us), let me issue my prepared remarks regarding this:

I’m sorry, there is no redemption arc for her after the feet pics
My theory about Joyce Carol Oates is that all her bad posts are her charging up like Godzilla's spines until she lets loose with a radioactive blast that leaves the world's richest Nazi a pile of ash

this exceeds Goodall's posthumous "who would I send on a rocket to nowhere?" level of haterade... (and deservedly so)
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Your lips to gods ears, Mr Speaker
Johnson: If we lose the majority… They will try to end the Trump administration. He won't have 4 years. He'll have only 2, because they will move to impeach him, probably on the first day of the new Congress in January 2027 and try to systematically unwind all the important reforms that we've done."

Friends, if you have the means to donate to a local food pantry financially via online giving, I highly encourage you to do that. But I don’t want to discount the importance of actually showing up at the pantry, even if it is just to drop off food. (1/5)
