You don’t need to read it because it’s empty. Barry doesn’t say things, he fills space.

Watching the establishment mobilize to defend this has been fascinating. As always the only people in the wrong, ever, are liberals opposing Trump. Everyone else gets a pass.

Indivisible organizes. They mobilize. And they are angry at the party. Not just leadership, but the whole Senate caucus that was in on this. They will succeed in pushing at least some incumbents out of office.

It’s as much about Kim Davis’ unpleasant personality as any merit to the case, since she had, if anything, more standing than the cake guy and the 303 Creative lady. But they were soft-talking small business owners, so they got more deference from the court.

Also, Trump was being booed at football games just yesterday, what does he mean opposing him didn’t work

“The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears... His heart sank as he thought of the enormous power arrayed against him, the ease with which any Party intellectual would overthrow him in debate, the subtle arguments which he would not be able to understand, much less answer.“

The basic political reality is that Republicans did not cave on core priorities and the Democrats did. Whatever comes next is on Democrats for saying “this is not worth fighting for.” You don’t get to impose weeks of pain on people and then give up wash your hands of the consequences.

We are less than a week after a massive Democratic blowout against Republicans that flipped multiple jurisdictions, while Republicans were being blamed for the shut down and Trump was being booed in public. And the 4D chess caucus thought “NOW is the time to stop fighting?” It’s inexplicable logic.

Like with the “vote harder” responses, this takes a capitulation-for-nothing that mayyyybe could have been explained (I haven’t seen it) and turns it into “fuck you for whining, you should expect nothing but vote for us anyway.”

Just the politics of this is baffling. How does this mobilize votes?
