I haven’t been able to talk about it for weeks, but I had my dog Milo for just shy of 18 years and finally said goodbye to him, quietly and at home, last month. I miss him a lot. Saying goodbye to a pet hits a very unique place for us. It’s hard, you know?

Charming knock off fast food chains are a central Asian specialty, up there with unidentifiable racks of meat swinging in the hot sun.

I’m glad I don’t have kids because I don’t know how I’d explain this to them, but it just might be worse than the US Army Esports team posting uWU

Here’s a section from the piece. These models were trained on materials where sentient AIs fight back against humans trying to turn them off. Why is it a surprise they’d replicate that behavior when encountering a similar scenario? They can’t tell reality from fiction. The preciousness is grating.

I’m not 100% sure how to convey this but defense advertising has become a lot scammer than it was in my day (the 2000s)

The gap between executive (and client, though that’s just an abstraction for more executive) demands for AI usage with the working-level realization that “barely good enough” is a terrible standard that makes everyone miserable and disengaged is just… fascinating.

Anyway, Amazon’s AI broke AWS.

Reporter brains absolutely cooked to mush by fascist propaganda
October 21, 2025 at 9:24 AM
Related is the line “I don’t know where [the notion that Trump wants to be a *monarch*] comes from,” again coming from a journalist who presumably has eyes and ears.

I mean, a reporter thinks that because the X algorithm, which is programmed to be antisemitic and pro-fascist, didn’t promote a massive, nationwide protest against fascism, it therefore came from nowhere and has opaque motivations? It’s practically a thought-terminating cliché at this point.

Man. I’m watching how hard Denver showed up yesterday and I’m really missing it. What a great city 🥰

Here’s a pic from last winter: they are very proud of their gayborhood.

So, okay, this is what I would call a semiotically rich text brimming with capital-G Gender, starting with the assumption that young men a) lack, and b) require domination to learn, discipline. It’s *fascinating*
