Same! I teach in-school ensembles, part-time. I conduct shows for schools and semi-pro theaters, part-time. I am an instrumental performer for orchestras, theaters, and churches, part-time. I’m an educational rep for a music company part-time. “What do you do” is a very loaded question, haha!

Oooo Jekyll & Hyde is orchestrated really well. I really enjoyed playing it a few summers ago.

I went to a mid-major for my masters. Not only did I get a ton of podium and teaching time as a conductor, I also got a lot of amazing performance experiences on trumpet that I likely wouldn’t have in a larger music program. I’m grateful for those opportunities!

Last year we made an indoor “field” in the gym with an old indoor guard mat and stage tape due to the same reasons! For the most part it worked amazingly well.
