I guess I’m not sure which definition of “can” this is using. He “can” shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue, too. And decent odds that wouldn’t result in a conviction!

The fact that what he did was similar to what other presidents have done does not, to me, resolve the (sadly mostly academic) question of whether it’s constitutional or legal. Presidents “can” do a lot of things that are not clearly constitutional

Hope that's true, but this is precisely the problem you bring on yourself as an organization by being silent. Not to be one of those "even if it's false, the mere fact that I believed it" guys, but even if this is a false report, it galvanizing protest against the team is a good thing IMO.
