What a pass from Merino. Wow.

England were 59-1, with a lead of 99 at lunch today. Four hours later, they’ve collapsed and lost the match. Astonishing. It will take something special for them to recover from this.

Weatherald is leaving the ball well. Good line and length from Archer and Atkinson. Come on England.

England will win this. Australia won’t chase 205.

Sensational bowling from England.

As I said, you can’t judge whether England got a good score until both teams have batted.

Just seen Archer’s delivery to Weatherald. Wow. The batter seems to have taken up gymnastics. That’s some delivery.

Waking up to another England batting collapse in Australia is grim. But that’s how they play, and it’s brought them enough success that we should trust them to play like that - it’s worked more often than not. Also, we can’t judge whether it’s a good score until both teams have batted.

‘England expects that every man will do his duty.’ Do us proud, lads 💪

Only just realised Steve Smith is Australia’s captain for the Ashes. He should never have captained them again after the ball tampering scandal. And he’s been rattled already by some pretty tame comments from Monty Panesar.

This is one of the darkest days in the history of the Labour Party.

This is tone deaf and is just going to increase the pressure on Starmer.
Keir Starmer's spokesman says he spoke to his senior team today and "has been assured that no No. 10 staff briefed against ministers."

Asked why he apologised to Wes Streeting if he believes his staff didn't brief against him, he replies that he "apologised for the situation he found himself in"

Get in United! Amorim out though, yeah? 🙄

Appointing Postecoglou at Forest has to be one of the worst decisions in football history. A manager with a completely different style of play to the previous manager who built the squad. Also, why not do this two weeks ago at the start of the international break? Bizarre way to run a football club.

Salah has been so poor in this game so far.

What a massive, massive win for Arsenal. Liverpool lost, St James’ Park is a horrible place to go, they always struggle there, and they were 1-0 down.

‘Collaborative politics’. He hasn’t demonstrated much of that towards Starmer recently?
@andyburnham.bsky.social calls for a more “collaborative politics” at Labour conference electoral reform rally

He says: “This is an idea whose time has come. Because the world we are in now demands a new politics — it demands a new approach.”

Absolutely baffled by the debate on Sky over whether that was a penalty. Yes, Gyökeres got the ball first, but that’s completely irrelevant; Pope got a touch on the ball, so it wasn’t a foul. Gary Neville just didn’t want to admit he was wrong in saying it was a penalty when he first saw it.

United have played well. Awful from the referees to A) make Fernandes wait four minutes to take the penalty, and B) not send Collins off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. Amorim will get criticism for the goals we’ve conceded (rightly so), but the referees have cost us at least a point.
September 27, 2025 at 1:27 PM
It’s an absolute joke that Fernandes had to wait four minutes to take that penalty. And it’s an even bigger joke that Collins wasn’t sent off. How was that not the denial of a clear goalscoring opportunity?

Very sad news. I was lucky enough to meet Dickie in a previous job. He was unfailingly polite and humble, and never forgot his Barnsley roots.

I've written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage, urging them to join me in condemning Elon Musk's dangerous remarks inciting violence yesterday.

As leaders, we must stand together and make clear Musk will face serious consequences for these actions.

Appalled by the violent scenes of police being attacked at the Tommy Robinson rally today. Those responsible should face the full force of the law.

These far right thugs do not speak for Britain.
