But then FTD.com's support was soooo terrible.
They didn't contact me when they failed to deliver.
I got on chat with their support person, it took 20m and multiple questions, repeatedly asking me for my order number to tell me they might redeliver tomorrow :-/

I should have called a local florist.

Now my problem feels like I need more ethernet all over my house =P and my house is pretty sealed up with no easy places for me to run cable :-/ (no attic or crawl spaces and stuff)

Do I also have to become an expert in tricky cable pulling?

I'm definitely lusting over the Dream Wall right now...

I'm trying to draw a line at a full rack in my garage... I don't really have the space =P but still tempting to find the space.

Good tip. I was thinking something like this might make sense, especially since the position of the Cloud Gateway probably isn't my ideal wifi location. If I need more wifi coverage I rather put it where it'd be most effective.

Ok... I'm almost ready to join this cult... I asked reddit for feedback on what I think my initial setup will be...

Share your wisdom too? :D

This is just the kind of recommendation I need. Thanks!

I can’t be more happy with my fiber internet provider Sonic.

Their support is incredible. Responding quickly via text, answering technical questions and giving detailed responses. Hands down the best technical support I’ve received for any product or service.

Exactly what I want.

Standby battery life

If I just take the AVP off, and don’t plug it in. And then try to use it 24h later, the battery will certainly be dead.

This frequently disrupts my likelihood to pick up the device and use it

I guess you should of known better when you used that word 😝

It seems to be working if I connect when I’m in range, and then move further away, things still work.

But then I’m getting stifled by input to the remote Mac.

In theory, my Bluetooth keyboard/trackpad could be connected to the AVP, and be shared with the Mac - but that’s not working consistently.

What I really want, is to be able to work on my Mac mini that’s down in my office. But I’d like to more conveniently connect to it from the AVP from any room of the house.

So far, this isn’t workin great. Technically, you’re suppose to be within 10m (Bluetooth range), and you need to be to connect.

Working on a Mac via AVP

I’m really interested in using the AVP as my primary workspace… but currently it’s still too limited to fully exist natively inside the AVP, so you really need to connect to your Mac.

If you’re using a MacBook that’s right in front of you, this really works great.

But…

When it does, it seems like it causes weirdness with how the trackpad behaves when controlling native AVP stuff.
March 2, 2024 at 10:58 PM
So it doesn’t seem quite true… the Bluetooth touch pad and eye tracking are working well together, until you include a Mac Virtual Display, with keyboard and mouse sharing into the mix.

In theory, the trackpad should be able to control the remote Mac, and that does sometimes work, but…

External Inputs

Attaching a Bluetooth keyboard to the AVP works terrific. Exactly as you’d expect, and great having a proper keyboard input.

However, a Bluetooth trackpad sucks. It basically disabled eye tracking and pinching to click on things in favor of the trackpad.

Hmmmm actually…..

**Image Editing**
I really wish you could quickly and easily edit images on the Vision Pro, specifically screenshots I grab from within it.

So far the easiest way I found without searching for more software is to use Keynote.

It works to crop an image (using a mask), and then you can copy/paste

**Personas**
Are super weird, but really excellent already. I’m both surprised how well they work, and how weird they are.

While I rather join a video call with a high quality camera, if I’m working, and in the zone, inside the Vision Pro, using the Persona for a call is totally acceptable.
