Mr. Robot is excellent, which I'm sure everyone knows who watched it 10 years ago :D

I'm impressed at how the computer stuff is on point ... but the one thing that keeps sticking out for me is Darlene's terrible lock screen pattern. It's so bad.

Has Passkeys brought us the end-of-passwords yet?

Like a good son, I ordered flowers for my mom for mothers day. I got a helpful prompt from our corporate perks that I got a deal from FTD.com, and I like a deal...

What a mistake.

Flowers failed to deliver... which was maybe sort of my fault... Mom's condo's office isn't open on Sundays... 1/2

I gotta say I’m increasingly unhappy with my Google WiFi mesh network. I’ve tried to use a wired backhaul for a couple years to improve my WiFi performance, but it just leads to unreliability as every node seems to end up asking my fiber provider for an IP address (where only one should). However….

I really liked this map from SFGate’s article on what coyotes are eating.

I also learned a new word, anthropogenic: which I guess is just human food. Presumably tacos and burritos.

I’ve been using one for the past week… and realized I needed a place to dumb thoughts, and notes.

This will be a thread of various reactions, ideas, thoughts, etc as I think them. 1/*

This is the single best article on color spaces I have seen around. Well written, well informed and illustrated with interactive visualizations. Truly brilliant work by Eric Portis!

You think it'll only happen to your not-so-tech-savvy family members... but...

My Facebook account was compromised :(
The attacker put a 2nd-factor Authenticator app on the account.

Which seems to prevent me from recovering the account, even after uploading multiple government documents.

Ideas?

Ok. I'm ready. I want to buy The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Amazon has it for 15% cheaper than everyone else :(
I'm really trying to not buy things on Amazon. Help! =P

Google Search is rolling out new generative AI capabilities to help you browse and jump to key points within an article. I *love* this for navigating long and rambly websites to find the information I'm looking for.

This is one thing Google+ got absolutely right. The owner of the post was in full control of who could comment, including the ability to remove replies, block folks so that they couldn't comment further, and (crucially) temporarily or permanently lock comments to a post.
imo most people need to understand that the replies is a little mini-forum of its own, and the OP is in charge of that forum, and the OP can and should block people who are ruining the vibes, and that includes people who are just kind of wasting space or being awkward even if mostly benign
