I swam with some beautiful Mediterranean/ fittingly named fried egg jellyfish (Cotylorhiza tuberculata) off the coast of Tossa de Mar in Spain in a little cove.
It was incredible swimming amongst a swarm of ~100 individuals. More videos to come!

Kind of Valentine’s Day related. One of my favorite videos I've taken, showing a female Oreochromis amphimelas releasing her fry.

This is an endangered species; however, they breed readily in captivity, so maybe there is still hope!

Beautiful fish. I have the exact same story with one, what are the odds. It was alone at the pet store about 7 years ago and still lives in my community tank. I also haven’t been certain on the species so thank you!

Currently have it as my banner as well and hope to get it tattooed :)

The UK’s smallest freshwater fish, the ninespine stickleback (Pungitius pungitius).
If you look closely, you can see the nine spines in front of the dorsal fin, from which it gets its name.

Here are some pictures of the eggs and fry of some Farlowella vittata that I look after. They have started laying their eggs on the front of the tank!
If you look closely at the video in the replies of the day old fry on the glass you can see its heart beating.

African butterfly fish are found in calm waters in the Niger and Congo basins. They are obligate air-breathers and are capable of gliding short distances!

For my first post on the new app I wanted to introduce everyone to a species they may not know much about and my favourite animal. The African butterfly fish (Pantodon buchholzi). They get their name from their beautiful pectoral fins that resemble a butterfly from above.
