As video content becomes a larger part of Spotify's strategy it'll be important to watch how the platform promotes independent podcasters who elect to produce video vs. those who stick to audio-only.

As Spotify continues to build an all-in-one creator ecosystem with monetization features the platform will compete with podcast hosts like Acast, which allows podcasters to monetize with a minimum of 2,000 downloads per month.

Very few podcasters will be able to reach 10K streamed hours in 30 days.

Spotify for Creators will launch with a suite of new video features, expanding the platform's offerings beyond just podcasts and video podcasts. Its incentive structure is clear:

• Highly engaged shows & audiences will earn more money.
• Creators are incentivized to publish on a regular basis.

Bluesky's trajectory is still being determined. It's building trust with people due to its T&S policies and transparency about its monetization goals. Will everything be perfect? Of course not. But communication helps people feel safe. And, thus, people are more willing to build here.

For better or worse, Threads is not designed for real-time news engagement. It's also tied to Meta's existing structure. People are tied to their Instagram accounts (if they have one) and all of the associated baggage of the platform.
