Despite legal resident status and having been charged with no crime, our Georgetown colleague Badar Khan Suri has been designated a 'high risk' prisoner and for that reason gets only two hours of outdoor time PER WEEK. His traumatized son "cries all the time" and has ceased speaking.

This has been one of the most exciting research collaborations I've been part of! Our forthcoming article in Signs examines an emerging form of "feminism" that pursues gender equity through financial investment.
🌟Scholars and activists interested in women’s health, femtech, and capitalism.🌟 Our new piece, forthcoming in Signs, introduces the concept of “investment feminism” as a useful way to understand how financialization shapes the conversation around femtech and gender health equity.

Read this article comparing universities that cave to Trump, like Columbia, to universities that don't, like Wesleyan under the leadership of Michael Roth. Roth gets it.

Columbia’s Capitulation, and Wesleyan’s Pushback

Macedo and Lee's book "In COVID's Wake" has gotten the red-carpet treatment, mostly because it tells people what they want to hear: the pandemic wasn't so bad, we didn't need to respond in the way we did and the blame lies with the "experts." But in fact, this is agit-prop, not scholarship.

cannot stress how much the DOGE experience has proven this wildly true. coding and quant skills in a vacuum can be useful, but if you combine that with domain expertise you can really get stuff done.

without domain expertise you'll probably just fuck it up.
my actual unironic advice to undergrads is to major in something you're actually passionate about/interested in, and then try and *minor* in either CS or stats. you would be surprised how how much being the person who knows a substantive thing and can do some basic computer/stats stuff can pay off

If the government can do this to universities, we don't live in a free society. Five alarm fire.
I’m told this is a real letter. It basically says, “We’ll destroy Columbia unless you destroy it first.”
