As the global need for sustainable food intensifies, regenerative agriculture as a concept has become politically and economically loaded.

We look at the evidence in our report 👇

Just wrapped up the iDiv Summer School 2025 in Leipzig!
14 early-career researchers from across the globe spent a week exploring how deep learning can transform #biodiversity monitoring 🌱🤖

Big thanks to our teaching team & participants for the inspiring exchange!

My first paper as a co-author!

The study explores how natural regeneration of Atlantic Forest fragments and landscape-scale forest cover shape the recovery of seed dispersal networks.

The article is available here: www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
Landscape-scale forest cover shapes the complexity of seed-dispersal networks in regenerating forest fragments
Despite the recognition of animal-mediated seed dispersal as a critical driver of forest regeneration, little remains known on plant-frugivore interac…

The Dutch Grassland Butterfly indicator (www.clo.nl/indicatoren/...) shows a decline of more than 70%. It will be hard to achieve an increasing trend in 2030, as required in art 11 in the Nature Restoration Regulation (eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-conten...).

There is an idea that we can simply step away from degraded ecosystems & they will recover

But truly biodiverse, resilient ecosystems are complex

So, in degraded landscapes, we will often need to intervene to guide systems towards complexity
