Here we go again, now using Remix & Rails:

✅ Remix, TailwindCSS & shadcn setup.
✅ Rails + SQL setup.
✅ Setup auth APIs.
✅ Login form & connected to API.
✅ Managed session w/ Remix.
✅ Auth user set to zustand store.

Kinda need some getting used to with this server / client divide 😗

This is also why technical interviews shouldn’t be judged by whether you solve the problem or not, since that depends on whether you had experience with this particular type of problem before or not.

The problem-solving approach is way more important than the result!
There’s this concept of “general knowledge”, stuff we are all assumed to know, like that Tokyo is the capital of Japan, or that “H2O” is water.

But there’s *a lot* of stuff in that body of knowledge, and every single one of us has gaps. Nobody knows it all.
Your regular reminder—

To you, about yourself

& to you, about other people

That “being smart” & “having information” are not the same thing.

Lots & lots of very intelligent people don’t have information about things.

(Also some struggle to speak English. & some have obvious disabilities. And…)

I wish I had checked out Astro sooner. I only need to use React for those specific complex components. For simple reactivity, I can just use Alpine or even just plain JavaScript 😆

If only commute was better here, then I would seriously consider working in the office. The time sink from traffic and the lack of decent commuting options kills it for me 😩 Tho I am glad of the opportunities of remote work has given me.
