Also, don't mind that there's nothing else besides my first post there. I've always wanted to start a family history blog but never felt ready for it until now, and I started this one on a whim, so it's bare bones right now. I plan to work a lot more on it in the coming weeks, though. 🙂

I absolutely agree, describing the process is what seems to trip people up. I mean people definitely know what a family tree or family history is, but "genealogy" often flies over their heads.
