Every Black Friday Shopify shows how "boring" technology can be scaled just fine.
This year they did 45M queries/sec with MySQL and somewhere around 1.3M request/sec on Rails.
If a tech company has enough business to need to scale: it can scale with whatever boring tech it uses

These two images explain perfectly the RTO of big companies, and the WFH of smaller ones. 15% of WFH engineers do nothing, vs 6% in the office, but 5x engineers are more common remotely. If you have a small motivated team, stay at home. You pile bodies? RTO

As you progress through your career to more senior positions, the amount of stuff trying to occupy your limited time is unbelievable.
I'm sure most people could easily fill their work week just by answering all their notifications on slack & emails and attending meetings they get invited to.

As you progress through your career to more senior positions, the amount of stuff trying to occupy your limited time is unbelievable.

En general, si dice que no tiene ideología o que es apolítico, es de derechas.
Que no os engañen: el urbanismo “sin sesgos ideológicos” es urbanismo de derechas. Claro que hay ideología en tomar una u otra decisión. Decidir adjudicar parcelas a colegios privados y retrasar la construcción de los públicos es ideología.
